Hi has anyone heard of or tried to use a ‘Rebuilder’ machine? They are supposed to cure the nerve damage which causes this awful condition. TIA

I looked it up.

It seems to be a glorified Tens machine selling for $1200 or so.

That's about a 1000 yo-yos in my part of the world.

I think I'd try a tens machine from Aldi or Boots for a few dollars/ euros/ pounds to see if it works, before stumping up that sort of money.!?🧐

I find a tens works sometimes for me, other times , not so good.

All to your own.

Tomorrow, our lockup eases a tad, but Irish ageism demands that I stay locked in my room.!😷

Mind you, they are talking about neuropathy, which I know very little about, but my view still doesn't change.

If you go for it, let us know how you get on

We might even do a "go fund me" for your investment.!😜

Cheers.

Thank you . I will research it some more and let you know how I get on.i would pay anything to stop this , but need to win the lottery first I guess 🤣 😊

Burning, pins and needles sounds more like neuropathy than RLS and neuropathy may be caused by nerve damage.

If something could cure the nerve damage then it would relieve the burning, pins and needles.

I don't think anything's yet been invented that can reverse nerve damage If an advert claims this machine does that, then it's probably illegal, certainly in the UK.

I really can't think of any scientific explanation for what apoears to be a foot bath to be able to "analyse" your nerves and "rebuild" them.

There may be some technology in it that relieves pain and it appears that the device is approved by the FDA for this. However that doesn't mean that the FDA recognises what's claimed about it.

There are things that can relieve the pain of neuropathy, e.g. TENS machines which do have a scientific explanation. This machine might be based on the same principle. However TENS doesn't repair nerves.

In summary, even if this machine were able to do as it claims, then it won't relieve RLS which isn't caused by nerve damage.

Thank you so much for your informative reply. My mother (92) also suffers from these symptoms but her GP just prescribes Pregabalin which has no effect. I wonder whether there is anything which could alleviate/improve nerve damage. I have no idea what might have caused it, it seemed to just creep up on me in my 50's :(

Restless Legs seem to have several possible links and causes, B12 deficiency and underactive thyroid being two of them. I had frequent, although not so severe as some, issues with RLS, as do (or historically did) many family members. I now have small fibre neuropathy. As I understand it nerve fibres continue to grow so some improvement or repair may be possible, especially if you can work out what is causing your issue. I have a problem with toxin removal as well as low B12 and folate, had a gluten issue (NCGS) dairy intolerance etc etc. Getting diet sorted and vitamins and minerals optimal (especially magnesium, in my case) has stopped me twitching and jumping, no longer get RLS, burning has reduced, still have some loss of sensation but less than I had and pain is more bearable. health.harvard.edu/diseases.... Best wishes

There are a few causes of neuropathy or nerve damage which might be summarised.

Mechanical causes includes traumatic injury to nerves or degenerative changes, e.g. in the spine. Compression of spinal nerves leads to symptoms in the part of the body to which the nerves go.

Since nerves to the feet come from the lower part of the spine, then your problem may arise from there. It may or may not be accompanied by lower back pain. You may or may not get symptoms along the nerve path, i.e. down the leg.

Mechanical damage can also be more localised e.g. in carpal tunnel syndrome where nerves to the hand are compressed in the wrist.

Other causes include a toxin or a deficiency. These may result in a peripheral neuropathy, i.e. affecting nerves outside the brain or spinal chord.

Deficiencies of B vitamins, particularly B12 are associated with neuropathy.

Peripheral neuropathy may also be caused by diabetes.

Peripheral nerves can regenerate to some extent, but that depends on whether the cause is removed.

There is apparently some evidence that Lions Mane mushrooms can repair nerves in rats. However I don't know if that's just peripheral nerves only. It's also just rats.

I have neuropathy due to spinal degeneration mainly originating in the lower spine. I have burning pain and numbness but rarely pins and needles. Both big toes and soles of both feet have been partially numb for over 10 years.

When my pain became significant I had an MRI in 2017 which demonstrated spinal compression. When pain was acute I had a course of Naproxen, I also saw an osteopath and had acupuncture. I have been taking gabapentin for nearly two years now which does help control the pain. However it has no effect on the numbness in my feet.

If you've not had your nerve pain investigated, this might be a good idea. If you can identify the cause it will be easier to find a remedy.

I hope this helps.

Never heard of it. Good luck!🤞
