Hi everyone - I did a previous intro post where I'd just started talking to my GP about iron tests etc to see if we could identify any cause of my RLS (5-6 episodes a night for more than 9 years, sort of managed up until now with magnesium oil). First tests showed mild anaemia, and that's as far as we'd got.
In the meantime I got cellulitis in my lower right leg, which led to atrial fibrillation of 170 beats a minute and five nights in hospital, and then a cardioversion (which worked fine yaye). When I got home again I contracted cellulitis in the other leg for which they prescribed more antibiotics and Tramadol for the pain. I'm not normally one for pain relief but oh my stars the pain this time was excruciating - but it was so worth it because I started taking the Tramadol and experienced NO RLS this last week. None. Not a single twitch. I can't believe it.
There's lots of info on this site and others about Tramadol being one of the treatments for RLS, and side effects, etc - and I know it's only very early days for me - but I feel like I've been given the most enormous gift (for as long as it lasts!), and just wanted to share in case it's of any use to anyone.
