I take two of these with Clonazepam, they are a sedative antihistamine, am coming down off the Clonazepam trying not to take as many, I am disturbed during the night but not enough to make me stalk the bungalow.
Anyone else take Promethazine Hydroch... - Restless Legs Syn...
Anyone else take Promethazine Hydrochloride?
Promethazine is an anti-histamine and is known to cause RLS.
That is what I thought, Doc thought it would help with my allergies
It will
Dearest Manerva,
What am I to do? The last Doctor was at least sympathetic, the others seem to throw their hands in the air in disbelief that although I can be drugged up to the eyeballs the two extremities will do what ever they will.
Any other suggestions?
Citrizine and (des)loratadine are at least 'safe' alternatives that won't worsen RLS. There may be more. Have a look at the treatment page of rlshelp.org.
I was on 1 mg of Clonazepam for restless legs. It took me almost a year to be comfortable when I reduced my dosage to .5 mg. Essentially, I did .5 every other night and planned on not sleeping well those nights. Once I got that worked through, which took about 6 months, I then reduced to .5 every night, and had another 6 months, roughly, before I could sleep pretty well every night. I'm using gabapentin to help with the restless legs. I don't think I will ever be off of Clonazepam, but at least I reduced my dosage.
