Decongestants

Good morning, I've been completely miserable with congestion and cough for days. Do any of you know of any OTC stuff that doesn't have antihistamines in it? I've seen on here that they can trigger RLS, and I'm not willing to take the chance.

Just ask a pharmacist or look at the label on the bottle. There are decongestants that don't have antihistamine in. Also look for "non drowsy".

What about getting Vicks Inhaler. You can get some that you can rub on your chest

Hadn't thought about inhaler, will try. Thanks!

Hi Good luck with it. It's important that I point out that you read the ingredients before you use it to check to see whether or not you are allergic to any of them

Don’t worry Sara_2611 we shouldn’t hold any one else responsible for the content of anything we buy and choose to use.

Cheers - to be fair though -on a site for restless legs syndrome (aka RLS) I kept mentioning my Balneum Cream to everyone who was suffering with it & the admin team quite rightly took me to task about it -saying I shouldn't really mention it because people could try it & have negative effects -so I decided to compromise & mention it anyway but put a note on saying it isn't for everyone & people wanting to try it do so at their own risk

Saline nasal spray. Brand name Ocean but generic works as well. Really helps with the congestion.

Sara suggested inhalers too. I hadn't even thought of those. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Iv2sew

I find cbd oil amazing as a decongestant , works really well for my asthma and nausea , it’s great to have in the cupboard .

Just thought I would let you know incase you decide to try in the future
