I just changed my Antidepressant from Paxil to Wellbutruin. So far no changes. It has only been a week but I thought or hope it would make some difference.

Sadly, it won’t make any difference until you get off the Mirapex. When you are suffering Augmentation, nothing will help until you slowly get off the dopamine agonists.

Did you get an appointment with Dr Buchfuhrer? He will help you get off your high dose of Mirapex and switch you to meds which will help.

Yes I have an appointment with Dr. Buchuhrer on May 23. I can hardly wait. we have to drive down to Los Angles. it takes us 2 days as it is a long drive. but I am happy about going. Still not sleeping

The withdrawal from Mirapex causes severe agitation as well as massively increased RLS. I’m so pleased you are seeing Dr B in 5 weeks time. You will be in the best hands.

Stay strong. It will get better.

What dosage of Wellbutrin did they prescribe? I take 300 mg XL Extended Release. Also, did you wean off the Paxil or just stop it all at once?

My Doctor told me I could just stop Paxil and start Wellbutrin l xl 150 mg. My husband said I am acting different getting stress without anything to be stressed about. We just don't have enough Doctors in Humboldt County CA

How long were you on Paxil? I was taking Celexa and my doc had me wean off over 4 week’s time.

The 150 mg Wellbutrin was not enough to help me either. I tried to go from the 300 to the 150 and had to go back up. Didn’t help at all.

I had been on paxil for 5 years at least.

Well, in my opinion, you can’t just stop taking it cold turkey!

Hi. Is this for depression or the RLS that you are hoping for a change in?

Welbutrin is for depression. I want to get off Pramipexole. I am going to make a appointment with Dr. Buchfuhrer

in reply toMarvene1942

Great! I hope that he can help you!

If you don’t mind my asking, do you find that the Wellbutrin is doing it’s job? Or do you think the difference in the way you deal with stress is the result of the Wellbutrin? I take 300mg Wellbutrin in the morning, hence the interest🙂

I feel that Wellbutrin is not working but I have only been on it a week. I do feel more agitated with people right now. My husband thinks I am not taking the right amount. He thinks it should be stronger. It is hard to deal with two different things at one time.

See my other reply. You could possibly be “withdrawing “ from the Paxil because you didn’t wean off.

in reply toMarvene1942

I think it takes Wellbutrin at least 2 weeks to take effect.

I would discuss feeling more agitated with your doctor and see what he/she recommends.

It’s the Mirapex. It will only get worse.
