PVT or PAD, Over the past 5 yrs. I've notice pain and heaviness in my legs and the last few weeks I can barely walk.

I went to my Dr. and she told me I was out of shape. I said he'll no. I know I am out of shape, but you know when something is not right. So, I told her I was going to see the vein Dr. That afternoon. Well sure enough I have dilated veins in my legs and they are going to do mapping on them in about a week and a half. My question is has anyone been diagnosed with this condition and what should I expect? I do have major RLS already. Thanks for any responses😊

There are various methods for dealing with varicose veins.

I don't think they will have any effect on your RLS one way or another.

If you want to find out more just "google" it.

This forum is for RLS

Haha that’s ok. I only know this because he arranged an ultrasound on my legs. I knew it was a lost cause as I knew I had primary RLS but it’s an odd situation when you’re half hoping that they find something wrong! They didn’t.

My son is a vascular surgeon and many of his patients with venous insufficiency suffer from RLS. This is secondary RLS. So if this is what you have you may find treating your varicose veins will help your RLS.

Even if you have primary RLS there may be some element made up of secondary RLS because of your venous disease so by treating this at the very least it may reduce your RLS and in return you may be able to reduce any medication. Got to be worth a shot!

Ladies, Just so you know this vein issue is just as bad as my RLS. I am in constant severe pain and can't walk worth a crap. So now I have problems during the day and night with both issues. Sure hope the vascular Dr. Can give me some relief. If he doesn't help I'm going back to my cardiologist.

Then print off that pub med link I mentioned in my comment and show it to your doctor.

Good luck 😉
