Weaning off pramipexerol

Almost 2 weeks without pramipexerol. I'm taking lyrica 300 mg with 5 mg of oxycodone as a back- up. My question is can you have augmentation from lyrica? If so, how can I tell if it's the Lyrica that I'm augmenting from or if I'm still getting rid of the pramipexole in my system? I have frequent bad rls during the day and still at night. It's like it never ends unless I take an Oxy and then I want to sleep.

I try to save the oxycodone for at night if the Lyrica it's not getting the job done. I really thought weaning off the pramipexole would be the hardest, but it seems these weeks after I'm through with the pills, are worse and then getting off the pill. I'm so si tired it seems all I do is walk. I get about 3 hours consecutive sleep and the rest is just short naps when I get a break from my legs. Is this Normal?

Thanks for any help anybody can give me, I really appreciate it.

Only two weeks since your last pramipexole and it’s still leaving your system. Lyrica won’t work until the last of the pramipexole is gone. Keep taking the oxy at night and try and be patient for a bit longer. You have done so well to get this far.

Thank so much Pam34, but I'm in tears now walking the floor. My left leg hurts so bad it's in the muscle in my thigh and I just keep walking and kicking my leg and kicking to get it to let up.

We had our kids and grandkids over this evening for dinner and everything went so well until they went home and it was time for me to go to bed. My daughter-in-law asked so what's going on with your restless legs what are they trying to do and I told her what was going on and she's like my dad was on that oxycodone that stuff made him weird well needless to say I could have punched her in the face but I didn't. So I tried to explain some more what was going on and it was like talking to my shoe. Does RLS make you mean? LOL.

I got around 4 hours of sleep last night and that was all. Doesn't look like I'm going to get much more than that tonight either.

Thanks so much for your kind words and information. I'll keep walking till the oxy kicks in. 11:26pm

Poor you, I really feel for you, I know what it’s like. If you feel you really can’t stand it another moment is it worth approaching your doctor for a temporary increase in the oxy?

Otherwise try all the home remedies, hot baths with Epsom salts, stretching, iron bisglycinate every other night, magnesium supplements (but not to be taken at the same time as iron), distraction techniques eg patience (!) on your phone. Cut out the caffeine and the alcohol, spicy foods, look out for other food triggers (I can’t eat Chinese takeaway). You will come through it however hard it is to believe now, this is only temporary.

And I totally understand about other people. They really haven’t a clue. I find I don’t have the patience anymore to try and explain and often feel like punching them too! Particularly when they know the ‘cure’ 😱

Punch a cushion instead!

Hope you are feeling better since it has been a couple of hours. I totally understand how awful it can be when you just have to keep walking. When I’m feeling like I can’t handle it another minute I take a bath and soak. This will sound funny but it gives me a little break from walking. I get a pillow and put it on the side of the bed. Then lean over it and put my arms around the pillow and lay my head down then I kind of move my legs back and forth like I’m walking. It helps me some to rest a little bit. Be sure to have a pillow on the floor in case you fall asleep and slip down. Also make sure you don’t have anything on the floor that could hurt you in case you slip down. Good luck

Thanks Dakota13. Yes I'm feeling better now thank you. I've been trying to have a project to do around the house so that I can stand up and move around like dust, clean out drawers things like that. Every drawer in the house has been cleaned out, kitchen cabinets are cleaned out too. I guess I'll start washing cars next. 😂

I forgot about the warm baths that one does sound good. I might try that. Thanks for all your suggestions and your help I really appreciate it. It's so comforting to know someone else has been through this and came through it.

God bless you and Pam34 too.
