I'm just wondering if the alcohol in a liniment I've been given for my arthritis is going to trigger or make my RL worse?
I've been having a relatively good time lately though I'm standing up and jiggling now. I'm starting to reduce the second tablet of pramipexole by a quarter every two weeks from now on and see how I go. If that's too much a jump, I'll take it slower. First night on lower dose tonight and I cannot believe this bout of legs is related. I only took the tablet half an hour ago.

Sugar is turned into alcohol by yeast, and your digestion turns it back into sugar, and it's this overload of sugar in the blood wich causes the symptoms of rls.
The alcohol in ointments etc is cetyl alcohol which is usually taken from vegetable oils such as coconut. It's not the same as grain alcohol and won't penetrate the skin. It's commonly found in soap.
Thanks Eryl. That information is very reassuring. I don't drink alcohol so I don't want to inadvertently absorb anything... the next message from scousewoman has also answered my question. Thank you.
