I’m sorry for you. I had the same kind of night. It is 7:41 am here and it is still in my thigh and driving me nuts. Good luck to you. You are not alone in this.

Hi did anything change 6 months ago? Did you start on any new medication? Did you stop any medications? Did you have surgery /pregnancy ?

Nothing changed never had surgery not on any medications .i do suffer a bit with anxiety but not on any medication

So empathize with the tiredness! So sorry! I’ve starting calling RLS the Devil-Incarnate syndrome. Absolutely no one but us sufferers understands the pure torture leading to more exhaustion than the human body is made to withstandI had a bad night a couple nights ago. I have given up trying to figure out why attacks strike when they do since there is no pattern for me. It just happens when it happens.

Good luck Thursday! I hope she finds aomething to help you!

I have had to get up, so long before morning as I can’t lay there any more! I am still so tired! How are we all going to solve this?

I have been taking 400mg of calcium and 400 mg of magnesium daily, something that was suggested in this forum. It has helped me so much and I am so grateful for that suggestion. Maybe it will help you.

If you read back comments/letters you will see that the first thing you must do is to get your iron FERRITIN levels checked. Normal is classed as between 30 and 300 but if you have rsl it should be at least 70. In my case at least 120. If you are found to be less than 70 then start off taking iron bisglycinate tablets before you start on the strong drugs which can have many side effects. Don’t expect miracles with the iron straight away, it takes time to build up. Do your research first before you go to the doctors there’s lots of information on this forum. Good luck.

Don't know if this will help, but I've had rls most of my life, mildy when I was in late teens but more frequent and worse as I'm now older. I've tried lots of things to avoid the triggers and am still trying to work out what works. I don't take any drugs for it.

The thing I find is most helpful, for me, is to get up as soon as I realise it's starting and do something to distract my mind. I know we're told things about not looking at screens, but for me the moving about, getting some chamomile tea, and watching a really engrossing tv programme often does the trick. Occasionally, the other leg starts when I go back to bed, but usually this works. I can't find any other way of distracting my mind. Reading a book is impossible because my restless leg is so distracting. Being overtired in the first place, on going to bed, is definitely not good. I try to make sure I get some sort of exercise through the day and go to bed when I need to - not always possible, I realise, if you have a family.

These are just some of my ways of coping - oh, and I've also suspect that sugar is not good for it, so I'm trying to avoid sugary things, especially in the evening.

I do hope some of this will help. Good luck. It's horrible.

Taking an iron supplement only every other night is what works for me. I used to take it every night but still had symptoms and then I followed the advice someone posted on this site and it worked! I hope you find something that works for you!
