Which part of the world are you in ? Why wont he do the script does he need to see you in person ? If you are in the UK request a phone appt or a home visit .Ring 111 for advice .You shouldnt go cold turkey off a Dopamine med it should be tapered .Do you have any strong painkillers to help you until you get the Mirapex eg Tramadol .If your in the UK you can buy Codeine /Paracetamol otc it low dose but may take the edge off .If you are unable to walk is there anyone who can help you get to the appointment by wheelchair .? A friend /family to take you by car ? So sorry this has happened withdrawals are very severe and it is wrong that you have been put in this situation .For collecting your meds if you are in the UK the Pharmacy will deliver them for you x

I live in Huntsville Alabama and I told the doctor I would happily pay for a home visit.it just does not happen in the country home visits..I should not have said cold turkey because the last weeks trying to stretch the mirapex I took quarter tablets 25mg..this country has terrible health care

My heart goes out to you, damn it must be terrible living in a place like that. So much for the Hippocratic oath.

If you are lucky enough to live in a place where cannabis is available, (remember the legal implications), then that can bring considerable relief just be aware that there may be some interaction with other drugs, (but minimal from what I can read):

projectcbd.org/science/cann...

Also many here get relief from Kratom which works on the opioid receptors and is a mild opioid. Again be aware that there are legal issues in some states and it was also brought to my attention that people in the USA had contracted Food poisoning from Kratom so be aware that you buy from reputable suppliers.

Here is the chat about it on here:

Please be aware that there is an extremely poor level of debate in this post with errant reasoning displayed. A more reasonable approach to Kratom and its use and safety (follow the links):

Again I am so sorry that your government and the medical people in your area treat you so shabbily. I don't say very much good about the British government (OK, OK I never say anything good about the b******s), however the NHS is to be admired and copied by every other nation on this god forsaken rock! It is far from perfect but I will take it every time - and a big thank you to every member of staff in it that is trying to make the world a better place, and yeah - even the Drs :) ).

Hi, you havent said why your doctor wont refill your Mirapex prescription, what reason has been given. ? As Pippins has asked is there anyone who can take you in their car, family member/friend/neighbour. ? Its not a good situation to find yourself in, having no meds for your RLS, even where you have taken less dosage, its not easy when coming off a dopamine med. Like raffs has said we all moan about our NHS here in the UK its no way prefect, but I can get repeat prescriptions by just phoning my pharmacy tell them what i need on my repeat they sort it and then the pharmacy delivers my meds to my front door in 3/4 days.

You need to demand a refill. I don’t care what excuse he gives, he is neglecting you by doing this! He cannot do this to you (tell him that)! Tell him whatever it takes to get his act together!

I am in Australia so do not have your awful system to deal with either. I have been on a low dose of dopamine agonist for a time and stopped working very well and doctor will not increase the dose, which is a good decision, so I have gone to a naturopath and am having a lot of success with magnesium chelate and the herb gotu kola which is not an opiate or anything like that. Ask me if you are interested in more details.

Hello Dorian Gray

Your situation is appalling and, in my opinion, completely unforgivable.

I have done some sleuthing and I see that there is an RLS Quality Care Centre at The University of Alabama in Birmingham.

The number given is 205-930-7114. And there is a Doctor Amy Amara who is a neurologist who specialises in sleep medicine.

I suggest you google 'quality care RLS Alabama' for yourself and see what you come up with.

Phone them, explain your impossible situation, and ask if they can help with some sort of intervention with your own practitioner.
