Has anyone tried this protocol? Also, is anyone a member of the Magnesium Advocacy Group?

I did a quick search on the About rebalancing magnesium, copper and iron. Bit expensive....

Many with RLS benefit from magnesium (either orally or applying mg-‘oil’) and/or iron. But both are not a cure-all.

Thanks, I am spending over $200.00 per month on meds. So I am giving it a try!

I wouldn’t. Have a look at the posts about iron and those about magnesium. I read that you are taking oxycodon ER successfully. But maybe you want a ‘cure’ rather than suppressing the feelings with oxy.

If you try iron or magnesium, first have your blood levels of those tested, to avoid overload. You may know that re iron, ferritin appears important and it should not just be ‘normal’ in the blood but at least above 100. Iron bisglycinate on an empty stomach once daily or every other day (e.g. just before bed) may help to raise iron/ferritin. For a fee it helps almost right away.

For some others, taking magnesium (e.g. citrate) helps about immediately. Don’t try at te same time, because if it helps - I wish for you it does - you don’t know which one is responsible. Anyway, both are far cheaper than this “protocol”.

Thanks for the tips and yes I am looking for a cure. We have ran numerous test, while included iron, PAD, Gerd scope. Exhausted all other meds. Gonna try the RCP. I am exhausted 😩 Wayne

A key ingredient of the Root Cause Protocol is the adrenal cocktail - it's just 1/4 tsp, sea salt, and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar (for potassium) mixed in juice. It's not expensive at all. You can also purchase it ready-made from Jigsaw Health. I take it almost daily, mostly for the electrolyte sources to alleviate leg cramps. Another key component is switching to a Paleo type diet which is pretty low carb, especially the processed carbohydrates like bread, crackers, cake, etc. I recently started moving in this direction with a cyclic Keto/Paleo diet.

Thanks, doing Keto and now starting the RCB! Thanks for tip on adrenal cocktail 😎

Can anyone explain in a few words what is "Magnesium Advocacy Group - The Root Cause Protocol" all about?

Does it relate specifically to RLS or health in general.

Thanks.

Hello DicCarlson, I would be really interested to hear how you've gotten on with the RCP. Thanks

I do use it - the adrenal cocktail (1/4 tsp of sea salt, 1/4 tsp cream of tartar - for potassium, mixed in juice) - mostly for leg cramps or if I have been out exercising or hiking for a long time. It can squash a leg cramp almost immediately. Help for sleep - maybe. I tried mixing it with tart cherry juice (source of melatonin) and it didn't do that much.
