Tramadol and Restless Anything (Abdomen, Legs, All Over, etc)

I actually visited the below link:

and thought that I should start a new topic here. Thank God others have found the drug, Tramadol to be helpful. I have had restless abdomen since I was 17 years of age and it had really caused me to go nuts sometimes to the point where I want to “jump out of my own skin.” I am 40 now and this is just getting ridiculous. Throughout the time I have had this, my family asks me what it feels like and all I can say is that it feels like an “empty” feeling or “fluttering” or “butterfly” feeling. I cannot fully describe it. I have gone to a cheif gastroenterologist at one of the best medical centers and he wanted to put me on Prozac. What?! I’m not depressed or crazy. Then they said that this is anxiety, but does anxiety wake you up in the middle of the night multiple times per week? I have visited 4 different gastroenterologists and all of then say that this is in my head. “No, it is not. I assure you that it is not in my head.” I have put Vick’s Vaporub, Biofreeze, and Ben-gay on my abdomen to see if I can trick the symptoms to be concentrated elsewhere, but it didn’t work. I have tried a sublingual spray that is supposed to cause nerves in the abdomen to slow down but that didn’t work either. So far, Tramadol or any sort of narcotic seems to work the best, but who wants to be on those drugs for too long? I tried Kratom and it stopped all of the symptoms for 3 days straight! Not sure how or why, but it worked. But the taste is so terrible, so I didn’t stick with it. Anyway, do any of you get that type of restless feeling when you are bored or in a situation where you feel uncomfortable or where you want to just leave a conversation? That happens to me. Also, when I drink beer or have champagne my symptoms go wild and my abdomen bloats to the size of a pregnant woman. I have not had beer in 10 years. I’ve switched to hard cider and that doesn’t cause any symptoms. I can drink hard liquor without any symptoms. I keep hearing that pramipixole is helpful. I might try it, but I am afraid of the side effects. I hope some help will be found soon. Thanks for listening to me on this matter.

Omg yes in my chest 3 years now drives me nuts help

Hi VIP - I have actually never heard of restless abdomen, but I am not really surprised. This is a strange disease for sure. I guess my thought is this: I have never tried Kratom - it is getting the same reputation as Cannabis, and that is illegal where I am so not for me. But if you found that it works for you, try it again, but take it with something to mask the flavor, like honey and ginger or something. Gosh - do not let a non-chemical solution get away from you if you have one! Now losing wine would be an issue for me, but beer - meh - not so much - ha ha

Try Kratom capsules! I drink the tea, with vanilla flavorings, but if you hate the taste just buy or make capsules. It's a lot safer than Tramadol. The FDA is putting out some scare literature on kratom, but it's not accurate data. If you're worried, look at the research posted on the American Kratom Association, but credible and independent scientists. It's a pretty safe botanical and if it helped you, find a way to keep using it! Good luck! Oh, and don't buy from vendors that promote it as a "high" or have weird packaging. You can get it cheaper and better quality from credible vendors that don't market it as a recreational drug.

Oh, PS, you can also get concentrates and extracts of kratom.

I am on pramipexole (Mirapex). It works great with no noticeable side effects. I have a new neurologist that wants me to get off it. She wants me to go on gabapentin. Yeah right. That was used over 8 years ago. The best was ropinirole but the side effects were pretty nasty - fall out of conscious frequently. Slurred speech etc. but It kept my legs and arms pretty calm. Sinemet is another that my old doctor used to keep my arms calm during the day. Don't give up. Keep pushing your doctor to get with the program.
