I have often wondered has anyone ever had their brain activity looked at during an RLS episode? As I have researched sleep clinics for RLS sufferers and often thought whilst your there do they carry out a scan of your brain to see the activity during the night when RLS strikes??

Brain activity during RLS episode
Many people go through sleep clinics for rls diagnosis. I'm sure brain patterns are recorded.
I know mine would be a constant static of enraged gibberish, mostly in fluent Swahili. Kwaheri!🤗
I wouldn't expect anything out of the ordinary, because I believe the problem arises in the nerve receptors in the limbs.
I had my yearly MRI in September 2016 for my MS & I was also going through DAWS & had a particularly bad time as my legs wouldn’t stop twitching & jerking as I tried desperately hard to stay still.
I only see my MS neurologist once a year and I meant to ask her if the scan showed any strange signs due to the severe leg twitching. I forgot- common MS & age symptom!
It’s on my list of questions to ask her next time I see her.
I’ve tried discussing RLS with her but she’s only interested in my MS.
However I will ask my neurologist team at Kings College London ( they deal with my RLS) to access the MRI scan from 2016 to see if they can see anything. I’ll add it to my “to do” list.
I would love that. I think it May offer insight but who knows
