New tingling in legs new to forum

Hi. Over the last few months I have tingling in both calfs. All day long and night.

I am hypothyroid on 100 levothyroxine, dose went up to this slowly over last few months.

Just been prescribed vit D - 2 tablets every month. Blood work looks ok.

Not sure if magnesium was done.

Am going through menopause ... am aged 49.

Waking up 4 times a night.

Any advise welcome.....thank you

Can't really state anything about the tingling - but it is unlikely to be RLS.

Why is the Vit D on 2 days - you would really need to take it more often. Daily supplementation was advised to me and worked very well.

Can you elaborate on the tingling legs - when do they start, how long does it last, what do you do when it starts, is there pain, any tingling elsewhere, how deep in your legs does hte tingling go?

Take a wee look here for diagnostic info:

Thank you Raffs for replying. Appreciate it. I have already been taking daily vit d , so doc gave me this prescription and said it my help with the leg sensations. Legs been feeling tight in muscles for sat least a year. Tingling last few months. Tingling feels like crawling sensations (short lived but very often ... worse at night. Also I could describe them as small electric shocks).

Thank you I will look at the website ... many thanks

Hi and welcome!

Tell me if this sounds familar. I get these «pins and needles» sensations that start on the bottoms of both feet and travels up to my ankles. I also get «numbness» in both lower legs at times. My neuro. recently examined me for PN (Peripheral neuropathy). He did not find any neuropathy, but instead suggested that these sensations might be a medication side effect.

Perhaps you should have your ferritin levels checked.

I see you mention elsewhere that you recently took antihistamines. Did the sensations in your legs start around that time? This is one of the medications best to avoid if suffering from RLS.: rls-uk.org/treatment/
