Hi, my gp has prescribed the above for sickness. I think it's another name for Zofran which is safe. Ami correct. Thank you.

No it's not the same thing as Zofran and it will worsen RLS.

Sorry I on my way out but had to jump in to stop you taking it.Zofran is more expensive so lots if GPs won't prescribe it and say Consultant only .Metoclopramide is a different med .

No it's not zofran. It is an anti nausea BUT it triggers RLS.Sadly, UK doctors aren't taught about RLS and what worsens it.

RLS-UK website lists all trigger meds under Treatments. Scroll down to medications that worsen RLS.

And ask your GP to learn about RLS by reading the website

In the UK (at least) it pays to do all your own research (e.g. using HealthUnlocked) finding out what works at what does not before you visit the doctor, print off any reputable guidance (RLS-UK, Mayo etc) and insist on the type of drug you need - and if necessary persist and then persist some more.

Agreed. I don't trust ANY UK doctors or neurologists where RLS is concerned!

rls-uk.org/medical-treatmen... down to medications to avoid. Print and show GP.

Some safe possibilities are Kytril (Sustol, Granisetron, Sancuso), Anzemet (Dolasetron), Transderm Scop (scopolamine, hyoscine) or, Kwells or Travel Calm both OTC

I’m sorry your doctor basically lied to you. I’m a retired nurse and I think it is reprehensible for a physician to give false information to a patient. As others have stated Metoclopramide and Zofran are not the same.
