They already provide "cures" that the medical profession loves to prescribe. What the big companies want to achieve is a drug that removes the symptoms but only while you keep taking it. Why would you buy the second packet if the first cured you?

Try the FODMAP diet. It costs almost nothing and it might work for you. Search this forum for details.

Big pharma doesn't find cures. It finds remedies. A cure would mean that you wouldn't need drugs. Remedies are drugs you would be taking for the rest of your life and make them profit. Many people have found RLS to be food related. Try an Elimination diet like the RPAH diet developed by the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia.

a while back there was a shortage of 1 mg Ropinirole, I contacted three pharmaceutical manufacturers asking why the shortage, reply was they were deciding amongst themselves as to who should make what. So short answer is they are there to provide treatment NOT Cure. The Medical profession deem it very low on the concern radar. More headlines for Cancer cures or heart attack remedies.
