Hi All

Has anybody been prescribed Targinact 5mg/2.5mg modified release tablets?

I was asked to go on this medication but I didn't like the fact that it has a laxative added because of constipation caused by the drug

I don't think I have seen this drug mentioned on this site before but I may have missed it.

I believe the Naloxone is to stop all the bold kiddies that misuse the drug by crushing and injecting. Once the drug is taken that way the Naloxone negates the effects of the opiate.

The constipation reliving is a bonus effect.

You must have mist it mentioned as there are a few of us on it here. I'm on 40/20mg twice a day and have no bother with constipation. Mind you I never had with any opiate use.

I don't think naloxone is a laxative, it just stops the oxycodone from acting on the gut (for a while).

I've not been put on Targinact, but it would be less off-licence than the amount of ropinirole I'm taking now.

Hi I've been on targinact for 9 month with 0.88mg pramepexole and they are working for me I am getting 5-5hrs sleep sometimes more, before this I was only getting 20 minutes here and there. Hope they work for your partner.

Targinact is specifically licensed by NICE for RLS in the U.K. That's a very low dose though. I take just the OxyContin without the naloxone. I eat at least 9 portions of veg a day though so don't suffer from constipation.
