Just wanted to say thank you so much to those who give such helpful advice on this site.
Having suffered with RLS for about 25 years, 6 years ago my doctor put me on Pramipexole. Bliss, it worked for a while. Then he increased the dose as it ceased to work......After a while that didn't work so he changed to Ripinorole with same effect. Last year he switched me to Rotigotine Neuro patches but after upping the dose again I still had hours of pacing around at night feeling suicidal and days when I could not sit down to eat a meal, watch TV (not even to pee!) It was getting worse and worse.
8 weeks ago I went on line and found this site. Having read many posts and articles suggested, I began to understand augmentation! I decided the only answer was to come off all drugs.
I have to say that it was really awful, even though I tried to come down gently decreasing every 2 days. Sometimes only one hour or less of sleep and throwing myself around. Sleeping pills didn't even work!
All I can say is "It's worth the hell!" I have never felt better than I do now and am at peace through the day. The nights are varied but some really good with 6 hours or so sleep.
Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU.
