I just wanted to say Thank You - because of this site, especially Sue and Joolz, my consultant has advised my GP to give me ferrous sulphate every other day and check my ferritin levels in 3 months' time.  If my RLS is still bad or ferritin still less than 100-200, they may do an infusion! And I live in the current chaos that is England!!!  Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you . I know it’s no guarantee, but if it weren’t for this site, neither I nor my GP and consultant would even be trying this. Â
I know what a nightmare this stupid RLS is and I don’t think anyone who doesn’t have it like we do truly gets how awful it can be. But hopefully there is a little hope for us. Fingers crossed for us all that our nightmares can turn to dreams come true. X

It’s good to know that your GP took note of the advice offered. At one stage there was a push for the Expert Patient Programme in England but I haven’t seen any mention of it recently.
Delighted to hear this. Your consultant and GP have listened and that is fantastic. Little by little, the knowledge will get out to the medical profession and they may start to learn about this serious, very common disease.
That is great news Bowie4eva it sounds like we are on the same journey as following the same advice from this forum (esp Sue & Joolz) I too am on a course of iron tables with a further blood test in 3 months. My ferritin levels are currently 52 and so have plenty of room for improvement. Good luck in getting an infusion if needed, my GP didn’t sound so keen on that but he was very sympathetic, so who knows 🤞
Oh Bramblespaniel, thank you! I am hoping for success for us both with the tablets. Patience (not a quality I’m renowned for) is where it’s at ……. very best wishes to you! X
