Did it work.

Well tonight is the nite we begin to find out if my iron infusion on March 10 worked. I had my ferritin level tested on Wednesday and it went from 70 to 615 after the infusion. I am to decrease the gabapentin by 300 mg every 3 or 4 days and cross my fingers.

Wow, that's an enormous increase. How do you feel? Are the legs still jumping?

Fingers, arms & legs crossed for you.

Wow, that is a HUGE increase. I hope it will work for you, fingers crossed. But i HOPE they are happy with that 615 ferritin level, seems very high to me.

Not sure but doc may be thinking it's ok because it dips at night or that it dwindles over time - don't know. I had only gotten an email from him to start weaning. The test results are sent separately.

Yes the ferritin level does seem to go back down over time. Then another infusion can be done. Glad its working for you and you continue to be RLS free. :)

Slept like a baby! Took 600 mg gabapentin instead of 900 at 9 pm. Then sat and worked on balancing my checkbook for a while. Then sat on the bed and checked some stuff on my iPad til midnight. Not a twinge at all!!!!

I'll do 600 for a few more nites and then down to 300 mg.

Fingers toes legs crossed too. ✌✌✌✌

Wow; that is amazing Grammie. I hope you will keep us posted. Now I am wondering (again) should I look for a transfusion as increasing my levels to over 100 has already resulted in a substantial improvement in my symptoms. I have fingers crossed for continued success for you. Well done.

Do you see a doctor that will prescribe it for you?

Thanks for the good wishes.

My sleep consultant actually suggested it last year.

Well, I'm down to 300 mg of gabapentin; down from 900! So far so good.
