Can some one please explain to me the symptoms of restless legs. My partner gets a tingling feeling under the skin in his legs, across his chest and down his arms. He has been diagnosed with Parkinson's so is this associated with Parkinson's or is it something separate?

RLS is not related directly to Parkinsons. What you describe would not be classed as rls- it is an uncontrollable urge to move your limbs- usually legs- because of ticklish sensations in them.
It is often confused with neuropathic pain and loads of other afflictions.
The common point with Parkinsons is that the same medicines- which calm the shakes- are used- but at a much ,much smaller dose for rls.
Cheers.
Many, many, years ago when in my teens and when I first suffered from this (long before I knew what it was) I used to describe it as "an internal itch that was impossible to scratch". My Mum got it too. In the family it became known as "itchums". As far as I am concerned that is still a fair description although it is now much worse than all those years ago. (I am now 70)
Thank you for your reply. The problem with my partner (79) he says it feels as if his skin is crawling ! It seemed to start after he had radio therapy for prostate cancer.
