Amputation or drugs.

I'm a 57 year old who has had RLS for at least 20 years. I'm treated with ropinorol 2mg at 5pm and then again at 8pm. If I do not tak them at the right time my night is a living night mare. I have autoimmune hepatitis and fibromyalgia but for me I could bear the pain and the side effects to my liver but not the absolute horribly awful feeling of my jumpy legs which is sometimes in my arms.

Car journeys can be a nightmare too as can sitting and knitting in the Kate afternoon. I have contemplated cutting my legs off. Desperate means call for desperate measures. My mother suffered from it and my daughter had it while she was pregnant. You could use it it as a means of torture. So would love a cute. 😔

Unfortunately amputation doesn't get rid of the problem you would still have RLS sensations as phantom limb and imagine how much worse that would be if you couldn't move your legs about. You most likely have augmentation from the high dose of Ropinerole. The recommended daily dose is now only 1mg with 2mg being the absolute tops. You need to slowly wean down your dose of Ropinerole and will need a back up med to help you to do so. Many find Codeine or Tramadol useful. Also get your Ferritin iron levels tested and make sure you aren't taking any meds for anything else as many can worsen RLS. Do you take any other meds?

Just now although it is difficult to believe the Ropinerole is making you worse
