Having taken pramipexole for a year, it seems to have made the RLS worsen and so I have decided to go the "none-drugs" route. I started the FODMAP diet a few days ago, taking codeine at night to cope with the RLS. Does anyone have any experience with this diet? and if it has worked, how long did it take?

What is the FODMAP diet? I am trying to get relief from my rls by altering my diet. I am starting to cut out refined sugar and also gluten. I am already vegan.
yes, until the augmentation has settled back down, plus the effects of stopping the pramipexole. Hopefully I will then get an idea of whether the FODMAPs diet is helping. I would much prefer to take a codeine every night than the dopamine agonists - wish I had never taken them to start with!
I have been on the FODMAP diet for a long time and it has helped me enormously. Not perfect and I am still troubled if I slip of the diet and sometimes for no apparent reason but much better than previously.
HI Graham, I corresponded with you a little while ago about the Fodmap diet. It didn't seem to help much, so I am now looking into the low chemical diet, ideally combining both aspects. However, what is ok on the low chem diet, is often high fodmap - how do you reconcile this ? I also looked into a low oxalate, but there were so many clashes with the low fodmap that it left almost nothing to eat!!! ANy advice would be gratefully received. Thankyou
