Can you perhaps enlighten me as to what is a slow release Tramadol? I take a 50mg Tramadol capsule together with a 50mg ropinirole tablet at about 8pm which has worked for me now for about a year!!! In fact when I stayed away from home one night last year and forgot my meds it was hell!!

Many meds have slow release (timed release formulas) Tramadol, the dopamine meds, and many pain meds, besides the tramadol. There are formulas that last 4-6 hrs and ones that are supposed to be every 12 hrs or so. With the slow release ones, sometimes we have to have a short acting med if we get breakthrough RLS. That is why i take slow release morphine ( for pain and RLS) and have a different shorter acting med for in between those doses.

Only up once last night which was good ,I get so grumpy with lack of sleep ,always want to have afternoon sleep which I know I could easily do ,but know I'll suffer later at bedtime ,it's a lose lose situation

We have found in several groups, depending on when you have to get up in the morning, if you do give in and take 1/2 hr nap in the afternoon, for most people it is like a little energy pill, and the rest of the day goes better and usually does not make a difference in the night's sleep. Anyone who can sleep all the way thru is one lucky person. Even people without RLS do not sleep all the way thru fro many reasons, the least being having to go to the loooooooooo. ;)

Well Mopsy maybe tonight you will go all night,I try to do something in the afternoon to stay awake. But then find I drop of while the news is on ,but I say it's the tablets,I am going to try magnesium oil on my feet at night and 1 TRAModol if that worked I know I wouldn't get so tiered

Hi Beady, really pleased to hear you've managed to get 3 consecutive nights' sleep. Am I right in thinking that you're taking the 2 tabs of Tramadol at 8.00 pm? I've found that "loading up" on Tramadol works best later in the day, if you want to keep the dose down. I'm on 400 mg of Tramadol and take 200 mg (2 capsules) at around 4.00 pm and then 200 mg at bedtime, and with that I'm OK. If I miss the 4.00 pm dose, as I do sometimes - I'm rubbish at remembering to take meds - I can really feel the difference so take them up to bed with me to take during the middle of the night, as I'll wake up even if my legs aren't bothering me, and then take them and be okay again.

Sorry, stupid me! I'm on 200 mg of Tramadol per day, split 50:50 as per above!

Thanks MumofSam nice to know what we all do,I don't think I could manage another 100mg as I know it's the tabs that make me so tiered,do they make you tiered I really do struggle Do you suffer night and day my legs start any time after 3.00,good luck x
