Hello everybody. Having been shoving pills down my neck for so long, I do believe I need to look at other options. Just wanted to know if anyone has used the patch, can it be used alone or with other drugs, and does it cause severe drowsiness.
Neupro patch.: Hello everybody. Having... - Restless Legs Syn...
Neupro patch.
I have used the Neupro Patch before if thats the one you are talking about. I think a few people on here are using it now. From my own experience, it made me drowsy the next day, but i am sensitive to the meds, and they all have that affect on me. As we always say, everyone is different and some people do not have any side effects, its a, wont know til you try it situation. What other meds are you taking that you need to know if it can be taken along side with the patch.
Ime on ropinorole, dosulopen and lyrica. These are causing me sleep narcolepsy and due to this I cant drive and have been told not to look for work. So frustrated at the moment
Ropinerole can cause drowsiness for some people and so can Lyrica. The dosulopen is a anti-depressant that can make RLS worse. I would ask your doctor if you can change that to RLS friendly anti-depressant, something you would have to discuss with your doctor. You can use the patch along side the Lyrica and a anti-depressant. I would see what your doctor has to say about changing to the patch and taking your other meds along side. You might do better on the patch rather than the Ropinerole but until you try these things you will not know. As a thought if you changed your anti-depressant then the Ropinerole might work better if you are not sleeping at night right now.
Hi, I have been on Neupro patches now for some months and so far so good. I was on Ropinerole tablets before this, and they made me more tired than the patches. Who knows what is going to happen in the future, you have to grab what is good for you for the present time. I still have bad days and nights but generally good.
I used Neupro patches for a couple of months and they did not make me drowsy and they worked wonderfully on my restless legs. But, I had skin reactions to them and they burned me real bad and my doctor saw the sores and made me go off them. Now I have awful scars on my arms, chest and thighs as a reminder of my brief time of using them. Now I am back take pills.
I am on nuepro patch 4 mg and also 1.5 ropinorol.
My symtoms have improved but not completely.
I'm not experiencing daytime sleepiness, but find I still need the ropinorol . Don't like taking such high dose of Nuepro but will probably stick with it às long as it works.
Neupro patches work well for me on the whole, in combination with 2 pramipexole tablets - one after lunch and one before bed. I started them when I had augmentation and the tablets alone were no longer effective. Doctors are sometimes reluctant to prescribe the patches as they are more expensive than tablets but if you can show that you have tried everything else, they might be willing to prescribe them. I still have RLS but it is much better than it used to be. I do have daytime sleepiness but have no idea if it is caused by RLS and reduced sleep, poor quality of sleep (ie shallow rather than deep) or moving house and stress! Good luck.
