a Ageahhhhhhhhhhhhhh blooody left leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Morning Popmaster, its a horrible feeling. I still say that when the RLS gets bad, but my kids always say that it wouldnt cure it as with it being nerve related we would still have the ghost feelings going down the leg, so nothing escapes it. I know it doesnt help but I totally empathise with you and there are lots of us on here the same. What do you take for it? Everyone on here is different with what works for 1 individual, may not work for another, it seems to be trial and error, but persevere and eventually you will find something, and when you do PLEASE share. Good luck, Jimeka
How are you this morning Popmaster? Feeling better I hope. Oh how I remember those nights having the same feelings as you! Hang in there and you will find some meds that help. As Jimeka said we are all different and not all of us get the same relief from the same meds. I am doing OK at the moment but know I will get breakthrough symptoms just as bad as you are feeling. They come and go which I think is par the course but there are long breaks in between which is bliss. Just when you think the attacks have stopped they step up and bite you again. We all know that there is no cure for RLS but get comfort from people on this forum knowing that they understand how we feel. Good luck.
Please don't get me wrong if I say your note made me laugh but also comforted me no end. Having spent the night pacing upstairs and downstairs and thinking I was the only one in the world and please would someone hand me an axe, you struck such a chord with me. I do hope you are feeling better. It's such an uphill battle isn't it?
This may or may not be something you are aware of but -
Sex - it stops it cold! As soon as those special little nerves get re routed - BINGO! I feel like I can say this on this forum because you all understand the agony of "THOSE" nights.
My husband and I jokingly call him "Dr Honey" when I have those moments! LOL
Also, If it is legal where you live - A couple of tokes of Marijuana!
Blessings and I hope this helps!
How how I love your answer to Restless Legs, if only, I believe that Sex is the best cure for that problem, but wish I had someone who could give me some Sex, then I expect I would feel better All Over, not just my legs, I have a husband but he is 70 and well well past it, in fact i DON'T THINK HE HAS EVER BEEN ON IT. and I am 57 and need a man, but I certainly like your prescribed medicine for Restless Legs, I would definately write that on a Prescription. Wow
My hubby is 70 and I am 65! Guess we are lucky! I also found that eating any Foods in the nightshade family make it worse and wine! So I imagine both err types of alcoholic beverages may be a problem, too. I did an elimination diet then reintroduced tomatoes, white not sweet potatoes, red, green, jalapeno, chili pepper, eggplant and paprika. Also Apple and beet juices (they contain dopamine which is the offending chemical in the nightshade ). When I 're introduced them after about two weeks without any at all I found I had a lot more problems! I read labels all the time and won't eat anything containing them even tomato or potato powder. CAN't pick the meat out of a stew either because it has Ben cooked in the potato juices . My brother isn't bothered by them with his Led but I sure am. It is worth a try to see if it is part of the problem. Also, all of the artificial sweeteners make it worse for me; aspartame, juxtapose etc. Hope this helps!
My feelings exactly at times, unfortunately RLS originates in the brain, so I v`e read. I suppose that makes sense because amputees can still feel the missing limb years after it`s gone.
Hi Popmaster I know exactly how you feel, and suffer this horrible feeling in both my legs, sometimes it is at the same time, or one or the orther, so I know exactly how you feel, all I can do is Walk around and try and keep them warm, and then take a Ripinirole and wait for the effects to take place, and then it usually settles down a little, but I just have to keep moving, I have also noticed that if I am tired, or need to pass a motion, it will bring on my Restless Legs, it is definately a Neurologolical problem, as I have had it recently confirmed by the A & E Department when I went about something else, but they also say that it is the nerves running from either your back, hips, or any other Spinal Damage. I have had the same feeings in my legs for a very long time, and it is very difficult to explain it to someone, I sometimes pace up and down all night, it is the horrible feeling it gives me in the stomach as well, like anxiety and nerves, like when you are going for an interview, I don't know where that comes from, but it happens. I have not been on the site for a while, as I have not been able to sit for long enough to write a reply to anyone, I have noticed when I have been scrolling down through my emails, that their are an awful lot of us with Restless Legs, so at least you are not on your own, and please feel free to contact me anytime, as I know exactly how you feel. If you do not have any Ripnirole I would try and get some and possibley Baclofen too, as they are a muscle relaxant. All the best. Widgeylegs.
Thanks to everyone who replied to me post i take cabapentin + tramadol for my RLS they normally help me I'm just a bit worried that i might be starting with argumentation of these meds as i've been taking them for several years,
This forum is very good at least i'm not on my own which is good to know. thanks once again for all your support + best wishes it is a comfort to me.
Hi popmaster, Gabapentin isnt a med that people get augmentation with, but Tramadol can cause augmentation. What dose do you take of each of them. It might just be that your RLS has progressed. So, its working out whether its the Tramadol that is causing augmentation or whether your RLS has progressed.
