First week of quitting smoking.
You will probably be looking forward to the challenge to quit smoking, however at the same time you are probably dreading it.
Lots of times it comes down to how you think and plan your quit journey.
You could start of by thinking I cant do this.
I will miss my smoke in a morning.
I cant go with my mates as they all smoke,
I already want a cigarette and its my first day.
OR
You could start your journey by :-
I am going to beat this addiction.
I will feel much better,
I can breathe in fresh air not horrid smoke.
I wont have to worry about where my next ciggy break is going to be.
My family will be so proud of me.
My money isn’t going up in smoke.
Which category do you think you come under?
.
Your first day can be hard in fact the first week is hard as your body is going through a lot of changes. Your circulation will improve , after three or four days you will be free of nicotine.
You may get a chesty irritable cough, which means the poisons and chemicals from smoking tobacco are now clearing away . The mucus you produce will help you cough out the nasty substances.
One tip is to drink plenty of water as this helps with de-toxing your lungs .
Your heart will be beating better sending the blood round your body much more easier.
You may feel tired the first few days . but this will improve as the days go by.
Quit Support try to help by advising and giving tips everyday to help you quit.
Remember if you slip up, don’t worry just start again when your ready.
Try and think what made you slip up and how you could change it.
Was it habit , try change your routine, or may be social where you joined in smoking , try and make an excuse and go somewhere else, or tell them you quit and prefer not to be there whilst smoking , ask for their support.
It can take a few attempts to be free of smoking.
But it is achieveable just be patient. Quitting smoking is more of a marathon than a sprint.
Slow and steady and you will be smokefree sooner than you think.
Just think NOPE! Not One Puff Ever
