Welcome to quit support, and well done on deciding to quit smoking. Going cold turkey is hard but it will be worth it in the end. Make sure you drink plenty of water and try some deep breathing exercises to help clear your lungs. One more day and the nicotine will have left your body. You then have to get used to a different routine , You have to be patient for the toxins from smoking to leave your body.

Please have a read through the pinned posts , which are on the right or the bottom of this page. Lots of information and tips.

Look forward to supporting you. :) xxx

hi Sidgarth and a warm welcome to quit support. Cold turkey can be tough ( its how i quit. you have been given some great advice so far.

Try changing your thinking around. Instead of that feeling of really wanting a cigarette, turn these thoughts into positive affirmations reminding yourself of your reasons for quitting.

Try and view smoking as the disgusting thing that it is which has done you absolute no favours.

If you find cold turkey hard, there is NRT's to use to help. All the very best on your quit journey.

Hi SachinStark and welcome to our friendly community of like minded members all here to encourage and support each other on our respective journeys to become smoke🚭 free.

Your a young man, not been smoking as long as some of us older folk, you may find it easier than some to quit, but theres no telling, as we are all different......in the meantime, congratulations on deciding to quit, you can look forward to many years of playing footie when you have quit, so I wish you good luck!

😀👍👏👏👏🌞🚭NOPE(Not One Puff Ever)

Such good news and who said it was going to be easy? It is said that giving up smoking is similar to giving up heroin or cocaine. Yes it is a habit but it is the nicotine that holds the power within the body and it is that one thing that made me determined to stop - that is something I do not need to live with, something I do not know that I cannot control. Uugh!

It is not always good to go cold turkey since most would find that very difficult, however you could save this ace if ever you feel you may not make it - so you could always move to these if you find the struggle too much although it sounds that you are doing very well .

However, as you have been so kindly informed, the nicotine by this time will have almost all left your body - just the habit now. Keep busy and focused on how much money you are saving - put what you save in a tin and save enough to get a meaningful gift or treat for yourself - now that is motivation. Then think of all the medical issues you will not need, even more things to save, all those days in hospital - then being able to live as long as all your friends - and your partners. Being a difficult thing to beat means you are beating it and it is getting angry - it really is a fight for control for your body - and you are winning!
