Breath better
Hi Jay I too have COPD. Well done on your 3 months quit. Stopping smoking when you have COPD will slow down the progression of COPD. I take it you are on inhalers you should see your gp about your frequent flare ups. You may need a inhaler review.
Hi Jaylove, Well done for your decision to quit and of course for your 3 smoke free months.Quitting is never easy but it's easier with a little support.
Welcome to Quit Support.
I suggest that you read the pinned posts there is a lot of information about COPD.As Nottobad suggests quitting smokes will definitely slow down its progression.
Watch this space as sooner or later someone who knows more than me will be able to answer.

Hi there Jay, I suffer with copd and have times when shortness of breath is worse than others. Nottobad has already given you good advice.
I find the deep breathing exercises help. (in the pinned posts)
Also you may find different temperatures can a effect you.
Have you joined the copd community , they can be very helpful too. xxx
Hi Jay, we have assigned you your progress badge for 3 months. This will also be on our wall of winners. (in the pinned posts). I have put your quit date for the 3rd July . If you wish this changing please let me know. xx
Hi Jay and welcome.
Lots of good advice already so I’ll just say lots of us are in the same boat unfortunately.
You’re definitely doing the very best thing by quitting and 3 months is terrific, well done🚭✅xx
Hi Jaylove, you truly have done yourself the best service by stopping smoking! It’s gonna take a while for your body to adjust....just exactly how long is anybody’s guess! I think you have to turn it around a little.....imagine how much WORSE you would feel if you were still smoking and had an exacerbation? Nottobad is spot on; you may need an inhaler review plus doing the Pulmonary Rehab course offered via most surgeries will help you manage your COPD and the flare ups better by being much more informed about the disease. Best thing I did. Much love, Poll x
