Good on you for making the decision to quit smoking as it truly is the best possible thing you can do for your health..
Have a look at the pinned posts under the topic headings and maybe the breathing exercises will help you.
You are still very young and have a big future ahead of you.. So please stay strong. Have a read of the symptoms of your body recovering from nicotine and the 4000 nasty chemicals in cigarettes.
If you have any questions, just ask and well done one your 2 days ππππ
Actually i'm feeling very low my appetite is getting less and food is not digesting properly and heart beat is getting fast is this normal and sweat is coming and feeling little cold???
Many people get flu like symptoms when they start their quit journey. For your own peace of mind, maybe go and see your GP to rule out any health issues ππ
Hey glolin i need your support and help i want live for my family and future so please giude me that what should i eat and what will make me comfortable while quitting smoking i am 20 years old as i told you before and i am 100 kg i am going to gym nowadays
Hi ya Sid, lovely to meet you and a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support forum
Sid you have made the best ever decision in your life pal thats quitting the smokes and while your sooo young too
I see our lovely Glolin and Elmdon have given you some excellent advice already Glolin lives in Australia and its way past midnight their now, so I expect she is tucked up in bed now but if I can help in any way, then please just shout out
Sid you are very early in your quit journey, so your body has a hell of a lot of sorting out to do and like Glolin has said, a lot of us get flu like symptoms when we first quit, but these should pass in a few days if not, then please nip and see your doc eh Try to drink plenty of water, cos this helps your body to clean itself out
May I ask if you have quit cold turkey or are using some form of NRT ?? cos this may help us to help you I will put your quit date down as the 28th August if any different, then please let me know and I will change it
Thank's for the advice friend i am not taking any nicotine at all 56 hours have passed while i quit smoking i am feeling breathless sometime, my throat is getting dry feeling really tired and sleepy and can't eat too much having degisting problem after eating some more advice will help bro...!!!
Hi Sid, well done for getting so far. I've quit for 5 months now and prior to this I thought I couldn't get by 5 hours! Take it day by day & remember we are not robots that can switch on and off, we are too complex.
Speaking of which, your body is trying to rid you of all those toxins. Smoking prevents the absorption of many vitamins especially Vit C & D and now you may have side effects with your body to re-invent its self.
Stick with it. Your confidence and youth are on your side. I'm 48 & started smoking just before my final exams at 21; something I always regret. But now I have so much more energy I feel like I'm 21 again!!!
Things that have helped me are;
1 This site & the great people posting their experiences
2 The Admin staff here advocating N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever)
3 Thinking about the things I can do without worrying; flights, train journeys, smelling of cigarettes the list is endless.
We are all in the same 'pickle pot' and that means you are not alone or in any danger of going into bad heath through packing them in and being a new you. (I should know & have known better as I was a Head of Department for Surgery - nursing - at a London hospital)
So well done & carry on the journey.....it does get better!
Thank's sir elmdon your reply really motivated me i will be with N.O.P.E(not one puff ever) all i need is guidance and support from you all but i am having breathing problem so is it Normal in quitting smoking?
Sid the breathing problem your having is quite normal in the early days and should get better soon
Ermm, am just wandering if you have coughed up any phlegm ? cos if you havnt, then this maybe why your having breathing problems If you look at the Pinned Posts to the right of your post and you will see some flippin great breathing exercises their and try some vigorous exercise, cos this helped me a lot in the early days
Hiya Sid, thanks for my elevation to 'Sir', I've always wanted to go to Buckingham Palace for tea and an Eccles cake with the Queen!
Pete & Monky have give you great advice. Without going too much into the weeds here are a few pointers about your lungs
1 Each lung has a massive coating of micro 'hairs' called cilia.
2 They are there to extract mucous & naughty things up from our lungs to our throat & then we cough.
3 When smoking, the toxins kill these cilia and then you have 'the smokers cough'.
4 Don't worry. After you quit, these wonderful little things go back into action. It's basically a re-incarnation.
5 They then try to get rid of the gunk the cigarettes have caused. While these cilia are still weak & trying to mature, there maybe a short period of time when the 'gunk' builds up and the cilia are not quite functioning as they should.
6 This can cause mild breathlessness and can get you into a false sense of insecurity thinking 'I was breathing better when I smoked'. Please don't fall for it. The cilia get stronger day by day.
7 To help loosen all the gunk & rubbish I would recommend an old fashioned method. Stick a desert spoon of Vic vapour rub in a large bowl of hot water & inhale the vapours with a towel over your head.
I hope you take the obvious health & wretched safety precautions as I don't want to be in front of Judge Judy or Rinder!!!
Hope this helps! Go for it.

Elmdon, you've beat me to it I was just about to repost a post that tells us what happens to our lungs when we quit the smokes
Soooo, thank you very much for this, just flippin excellent, excellent ermmm, Sir Elmdon
Hey guyz now 3 days have passed since I quit smoking but i am having digestive problem my food what i eat is not getting digest properly and bco of that habing breathing problem also please help guyzz ???
Hiya Sid, as Glolin says digestive problems are very common and my tip is drink lots and lots of water as this will help and prunes are very helpful and so is liquorice for your system, hope they work coz you're doing greatπx
Ok glolin but because of this i am having problem in breathing because of degistive problem and gas and can't eat to much feeling very hungry but can't eat and feeling very very low tired
Hiya sid, you just need to plough through it, get a can of lemonade or 7up open it and let it go flat, then drink it... This will help with your energy but you do need to eat otherwise you will make yourself ill... Even if it's just a bit of toast and soup π
Read the breathing exercises post located on the right, these will help you with your breathing, if you are still unsure please go and see your doctor.
Hey guyz feeling little better now but appetite is getting less can't eat too much soo i told my mom to cook some light grain cereal maube it will help me good day all #N O.P.E #FOREVER
Hiya Sid, sorry but you are just going to have to be patient... your symptoms will pass but it does take time. If you are in any doubt please see your doctor. This is just your bodies way of trying to get used to you not inhaling over 4000 toxins and chemicals.
Give it another few days and I'm sure it will improve ππ good luck π
I'm doing much Better now and smoke is just out of my blood the only problem i'm having is can't eat to much because of acidity and i hope it will be fine in couple of days tho
Hi Sid, sorry I havnt got back to you earlier been doing some admining
As for your acidity problem, maybe just try to eat the simple foods for a few days, and am sure your mum loves you soooo, maybe she will cook a nice stew or hotpot for you, cos you will have all the goodness in them
I had a bad car accident some years ago now and my jaw was broken in 3 places soooo, I couldnt eat anything unless it had been through the blender and one of the lovely Doctors told me to try a product called '' complan '' its a drink but with all the vits in it maybe ask at your local chemist if they have anything like that, cos it did boost me up
Hey Pete how are you doing friend hope all is fine, thanks for the advice my acidity problem is getting less slowly slowly lots of phlegm is coming from my chest i hope its a good recovery sign and well i know about complan i will try that also if needed
But thanks for the support pal it couldn't be possible alone
