A Big Thank you.

Dear PSPA staff and volunteers,

Thank you for organizing and making the family symposium day at Sandbach so informative and friendly.

Both my husband and I enjoyed Saturday greatly. It was a good opportunity to hear about the services that are available to assist sufferers and carers, how to plan for the future, this of course is a very sensitive subject but handled in a very supportive manner, the experiences of other also experiencing this long and arduous journey and also to hear about current research that is being undertaken. All of this helps to take away that feeling of loneliness and isolation that occurs at times.

Meeting people the evening before the symposium was wonderful. Talking to other experiencing similar difficulties, but most importantly, having a good laugh around some of the difficult, frightening, scary and sometimes hilarious situations sufferers and carers can find themselves in.

As a result of attending the symposium I have addressed the issue of hospice care with our local hospice following the excellent talk on Saturday. At last my husband was convinced that what the hospice has to offer could help both of us.

Once again a very big thank you to you all.

If you have the opportunity attending next year, I can strongly recommend it.

Best wishes and love to you all.

Mary and Peter Allen aka Peter3.

Dear Mary and Peter

Thank you for such positive feedback about the first of our regional events for people living with PSP. The programme was designed to ensure that the event was informative, interactive and relaxing. We also wanted to create opportunities for delegates to meet others people living with PSP.

We are really pleased to learn that the event met your expectations and most notably that it opened up discussions on some important yet sensitive issues which as a result, have enabled you to access more support in your area.

Evaluation has been extremely positive and strongly suggests the need for more regional events for people living with PSP in the future. With this in mind, we intend to run at least two regional events in 2013 and will announce more on our website in the weeks ahead.

Warm regards

Sharon
