I haven't heard my wife's "proper" voice since 2019, we initially went to the doctors at the start of this PSP journey with a soft voice. Although she does occasionally say the odd very quiet slurred word she is mostly non verbal.
Imagine my surprise when I was woke up to her old voice saying a few words, she was fast asleep and dreaming and the words ment nothing to me but it was so nice to hear her again 🙂
That’s lovely. I remember when we’d leave speech therapy and my sweetheart could talk almost normally for an hour or so afterwards. Seemed like a miracle.
That is a lovely bit of joy. And do you know what, there are still moments of joy to come even with the disease, we just have to remind ourselves to make sure to watch for them, and not to let them slip by unnoticed.
How wonderful for you to have captured that moment. I truly understand what it's like to not hear the voice of your loved one. 💟
Ah, thanks for sharing that, hold on to the joy! My husband still speaks OK during his LSVT exercises and occasionally sings, I have noticed his voice is more as it used to be when he talks in his sleep. 🤗🌻

My wife cannot make herself understood at all now, despite all her attempts. It is so sad. I would love to hear her voice and opinions again. They were the lovely moments in that American TV series 'Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist' that featured a girl who could magically communicate with her father suffering with PSP....
So lovely tale - even if ever so brief.
