My nose keeps running and I have to cough to clear throat what can it be?

Hi my husband has PSP and his nose runs constantly. I think it must be another symptom of this horrible condition.

Yes it is almost certainly a symptom. The brain can’t control the messages to the nose. For some the same happens with the eyes. And it can cause too much running or too much drying or alternating between the two! My mum had nose running or getting blocked. I got a small air cleaner that I put Eucalyptus drops in and it helps both. amazon.co.uk/Fresheners-Fra...

Yes my husband also has problems with his eyes watering constantly and they are very dry

My husband had PSP...his doctor prescribed Liftigrast AM and PM which worked very well to solve dry eyes. He also used Refresh .05% several times a day between the Lifigrast Doses. My husband was also on Donepizil which started at 10mg then later increased to 20%. Donepizil was a life saver helping with swallowing and metal cognition. God Bless You.

Thank you, all my husband has been given is Visco Tears which don’t help for long.

Ask your doctor if this is a sign of aspiration.
