I know that PSP, MSA, and CBD and Parkinsons are not one and the same but this headline caught my eye about the most recent studies involving what effect chemical solvents so many of us are exposed to day to day may have on our brains. My husband, a photographer, farmer, carpenter and sometimes painter was without a doubt exposed to this specific environmental contaminant called TCE.

My husband died six months ago of PSP, aged 79, but he also had IPF ( idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis ) which I’ve always suspected was linked to him being exposed to various materials as part of his work in his 20s and 30s. Both diseases were written down on his death certificate and I often felt angry that he suffered a double whammy of suffering two terminal, untreatable diseases, cause unknown. I wish you well, Troubleand strife and hope you’re doing as well as you can. I’m very lucky in that I’m having bereavement counselling at the hospice where my husband died. It’s helping me a lot to sort myself out. X

Interesting ... I am 81, diagnosis PSP 5 yrs ago, still muddling along and sociable. Aged 7 in Singapore we used lots of DDT spray anti-mosquitos at night. Often wondered if that 'flit' spray running down my arms had an effect. Our local Malvern friend Paul here was farm helper and the organophosphates had devastating effect on his health. Now I am very hrealth/exercise/therapy/supplements conscious. An organic eating so far as poss. So glad you've pointed this up. Pity PSPA does not focus more on these causes, and less on top-end research. Keep it up and Please Stay Positive (PSP). Cheers TimbowPSP
