The following article is based on the latest research and a Parkinson’s Foundation Expert Briefings about Parkinson’s-related freezing, balance and falls hosted by Fay B. Horak, PhD, PT, Professor of Neurology at the Oregon Health & Science University, a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence.

A really good read and some worthwhile information.

I'm just a little cautious as PSP and CBD both separately have other issues than PD.

It would be great if someone explored this with CBD/PSP.

But it's a start.

And as you say - Yes, exercise and physio. :)

Thank you for posting this!

Best to you

Kevin

Steve's personal trainer also ran classes for Parkingsons. She told me right at the beginning that it would help Steve, because exercises helps the basal ganglia , which we know causes problems in PSP, ie balance control.

Lots of love

Hi

Yes, I've probably been overcautious.

And yes, Liz's physio was working on those lines too and she was a neuro specialist.

I read this before posting

vestibular.org/understandin...

Which does support the idea.

Yes, I know. But it will take a lot of time. I have not now. Going to the point, we finally arrive to a diagnostic of my sister, with 80% confidence ( to put a number), is a PSO/A FG : Apraxia with a freeze of gait. I know her, I take care, I stay with by more time that the visit to the specialist in neurology and movements. She is suffering this disease more than 10 years.

Last two years I moved to professional papers. Then, I could have a more wide scope of PD-PSP, and the variations of PSP. For me, the work of Dr. T... was the clearest reference I have to go more deeply into the problem

I promise I will work on CBD, in a month, I am very busy now. I have to say many many thanks to this forum.

Hi Judi

Again thanks for taking the time to share that especially as you are so busy.

It must be miserable not the have a clear diagnosis after ten years.

I'm not asking you to work on CBD - I was talking about research. You have enough on your plate! But how wonderful of you to offer.

Its good to have you here :)

Wishing you both the best of it.

Hugs

Kevin

Thanks for this Judi - I'm a believer and like Kevin, I look forward to some body focusing such research on psp/cbd, but for now this is relevent.

PS: (Will miss Oasis group again as I'm on a few days respite vacation in S. Francisco :-)
