Hi friends i just wanted to ask if any of you have a good chair with head support for the bathroom. My mums head is really tilting now towards the ceiling when i try to brush her teeth and wash her face. It's difficult as i have a perch stool with no head support i have to push her head over the sink and my other hand brushes and washes. I also use my whole body to push her back upright while doing all of this. I wonder if anyone has a suitable chair which you use in the bathroom if possible i would like to see pictures . Our OT has said there is no funding for that type of chair so she has ordered a used commode from medequip with a head support for brushing her teeth. I wonder if anyone's OT has done better in providing a proper chair. It would be much appreciated if anyone could post pictures of such a chair. Thankyou.

We hold a plastic basin under my mom’s chin when brushing her teeth. One arm goes around the back of her neck / over her shoulder and holds the basin under her chin, the other hand brushes her teeth or uses the waterpik or whatever. Instead of bringing her face to the sink, we bring the sink to her. Not sure with your mom’s posture whether it would work, but might be worth a try.

Thankyou for taking the time to reply. Our ot has got us a commode with a head support i wheel mum to the sink with the commode but i still push her head forwards over the sink with one hand and brush her teeth with the other. It seems to be better than before where i had to use my body from behind her while she was sitting on a perch stool and brushing her teeth from behind. And i use that same commode to shower her with as its head support is helpful. Thankyou again i appreciate it. 🌷
