The Meaning Behind the PSP-CBD Ice Cream Challenge

Sadly, we lost another member of our extended PSP-CBD family this morning. I know for me, and for many others, each loss is a stark reminder about the endgame of these two insidious diseases. And while the PSP-CBD Ice Cream Challenge was fun and has seen more participation than in previous years, we (patients, caregivers and loved ones) cannot forget the purpose behind it all. PSP-CBD Awareness. Awareness creates understanding. Understanding creates compassion and much needed support that drives research towards treatment and ultimately a cure. I would much rather prefer to ring 'the bell for a cure' than sending hugs, prayers and messages of condolences. We cannot rely on others for the heavy lifting. We, the stakeholders, must be the ones to advocate for ourselves, or on behalf of your loved ones. One more death is one too many.
