Good morning everyone. We are considering purchasing a new vehicle, probably an SUV. I need help figuring out what type of carrier/ramp/lift would be best to transport the scooter. My niece is an occupational therapist who has warnings against buying a newer vehicle because she said the frames are lighter to get better gas mileage, The scooter is heavy and is about all I can do to break it down and lift into the truck, but it does give us increased mobility and freedom, at least for now. Please show photos and type of vehicle…

My husband has both PSP and major back problems. He has been in a power scooter for much of the last 15 years, thus we have had several handicap vans. We found the most reasonable place to purchase one, and to get service, has been places like Mobility Plus, Mobility One or Independent Lifestyles. These companies consign/buy outright used vehicles, refurbish as necessary and later maintain as needed.

Thanks, I didn’t even know there were such places. I’ll try finding one locally.

Hi Auntbuzzy, I'm so glad you asked this question. My husband has CBD. He's a veteran and the V.A. has given us a wonderful motorized chair but we have no vehicle equipped to haul it in. We transfer him to and from the car using a push wheelchair and it's becoming neatly impossible for me to get him in and out of the car. I will explore the websites of the companies Lady dog gave you. Good luck to both of us finding vehicles!
