My dad is 77 he was diagnosed in October 2018 with CBD at the time he could walk although with a stick, have a conversation, dress and feed himself now he can do very little and has Carers 4 times a day to help him with everything from getting out of bed, washing & dressing to eating and moving, we use letter boards and games to communicate as can only clearly say yes & no and he is double incontinent. Yesterday it was confirmed that his swallow is now affected and he needs level 5 soft/ minced food. How quickly this disease has taken hold

You are really doing well in looking after your Dad. The progress you describe is identical to my experience when I cared for my wife. You are now entering what I found to be the most difficult time in the progress of the disease.
As you progress from softened food and puréed food to decisions regarding peg feed etc. There is a lot of information on this site with people being honest about their decisions and difficulties throughout this period of the disease. Wishing you well in your care. Ken.
I agree. David is 77. He was diagnosed in October 2018 and declined extremely fast. In March 2020 he was admitted to a Care Center for total care. It's so difficult to watch them decline. His dementia is really bad too. Hugs to you. May the Lord be merciful upon our loved ones.
