9+ years of brave-fight ended last month!

Hello All - this is just to thank all of you here for your support to me which helped my mom run with CBD for 9+ years of slowly acquiring this clinically-incurable disease. She fought long and hard and persevered with a brave heart. She smiled as much as she could, till about a few months prior. She would be 67 today!

I'm happy to be a son to such a happy woman who did much more than she could for anybody she came across. I'm all because of her and my father's complete-dedication in bringing up their son.

Cheers and take care. Feel free to reach out to me for any kind of support - glad to be of help.

Thank you!

I know how it's a mixture of relief and loss. My husband also was called Smiler by the carers.

We have to hold on to the privilege of knowing such special people who have left so many memories.

Love from Jean x xx

Thanks a bunch... Anne!

I do hope though that this disease is either eradicated or becomes easily curable pretty soon... with advancements in medical technology... should not be too far off...

She sounds as if she was a wonderful lady, adored by her sons and others around her. A great legacy, she must have been proud of her son's. She is now free of this terrible disease after her long struggle.

Sending love

So sorry for your loss.

Your mum sounds like she was an amazing woman.

I too lost my husband to CBD back in July.

We would have been married for 42 years next week and he would have been 63, a couple of days afterwards!

Two first anniversaries without him, already!

I miss him very much.......

Love to you and family

Take care

Thanks D S! Yes, these dates sort-of bring some pain back. Your husband was only 62 when he left!! such a young age to leave!

Yeah you have to move on recalling the wonderful 42 years you spent together... kudos to you and your husband... both of you seem to be wonderful people... God Bless!

sorry to hear about your mum, she sounds like a wonderful lady, but it also sounds like she will always be present in the person you have become. you will forever be proud in what you have done for her. i am in the midst of it here, caring for dad, but knowing the dedication they showed me keeps me going.

I hope you get to rest now and are able to remember all the wonderful times yr shared, she is at peace xx

Thanks a lot Catherine!

Proud of you for doing what you are doing for your dad... yes it should be natural but lot of people don't think so, unfortunately! Keep on keeping on - someone is watching from up above and blessing you... and we all here are cheering for you and your dad. You'll come out victorious.

So so sorry - know the heartache all too well.... so she was 58 when she was diagnosed? My friend is 57 and awaiting tests now at Mayo Clinic as Canadian doctors have not been able to pinpoint - only "suggest" it might be PSP. All her symptoms are on the "list" sadly ..... peaceful thoughts to you and yours.....

Thanks a lot for sending those thoughts...! Yes she was 58ish... all these things are so assumptive! It is very much like all the people we are taking care of, here; none's diagnosis is full-proof and is based on presumptions and assumptions! Actually its not their fault totally, the disease itself is still at a very nascent stage with respect to its research.

But for your friend and all others who are still 'there', a lot of quick advances are happening in the neurological diseases and soon some solid treatment should come about... let's pray and have faith on Him!
