Isn’t it good when you find a piece of equipment that does help. As things change, I hope you continue to find equipment which makes life easier for both of you. There is a lot out there.
Using those belts are great! Keep in mind that if she really falls and you can't maintain her upright then use the belt to control the fall and let her down gently to the floor. If you try to stop a fall of that type you may injure yourself in the process.
You are right for she weighs 75 kg and I weigh a miserable 55 kg but at least she will make a soft landing.
Another unexpected problem is that she apparently now thinks that the belt turns her into superwoman who no longer needs the walking frame.
I was at the other end of the room when she let go of the walker and walked towards a window. She slowly fell backwards.
It was the most horrible sight in my life and I could not help screaming like an idiot.
Result; a big black bruise but the doctor assured us that nothing was broken.
Damn, you just cannot understand PSP logic.
On a lighter note;
a couple of hours later I decided that we deserved hot meat pies for lunch. When I pulled out my wallet a lady standing next to me said " They are on me" "Huh????"
" it's ok," she said.
Gosh, the world is full of lovely people.
I am still looking for a chance to do something nice for someone else.
Happy the belt is useful at this stage of PSP.
Also happy there are caring & sharing people in the world. About PSP Logic... it comes & goes... which can be frustrating for all concerned. Some days sharing a smile is the best medicine.
