My husband used to do this all the time andgot terrible mouth ulcers, never did find a remedy to help or stop it. Hope you have better luck, maybe a mobile dentist could help with a mouth guard! Best of luck

My husband would bite his tongue on occasion. His dentist worked on filing down a couple of crowns and the issue went away after that.

Thanks for that.

Hi Norsksue!

We have had episodes of canker sores in the mouth, especially in the tongue. If they are not eliminated by applying "Pyralvex-solution" (Rheum officinale extract plus salicylic acid and ethanol) the doctor has prescribed the oral ointment "Sanodin 20mg / g" (disodium carbenoxolone) with good results.

Hugs.

I experience this issue at least twice a week. I'm looking to have any high spots (through a bite assessment) removed as well. A warm salt water rinse seems to help for me.

Yes Mum does this and it must be very painful, her teeth clamp very tightly at times and if the side of her mouth gets in the way - ouch!
