Put the patch on Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 am it started.this is the guy who has not been able to get himself out of bed for well over a year,he got himself out of bed 4 times moving things, trying to do things such as get a towel for our Granddaughter who is 29 and dose not live with us ,trying to move a imagery object around, telling me to let some one at the door in,not a lot of people visit at 4:00 am..9: 30 AM he wants cash for the imagery pizza delivery guy standing in our kitchen.
They are doing really good at drying up his saliva so I will try to ride it out for a while.I have not heard him talk in years, kinda nice.
That’s the thing about medication. One never knows how or if it will produce bizarre side effects. Over the counter cough medicine set Larry off with delusions. I now avoid that.
Omg this afternoon I am going to the chemist to pick this up for mum. 😳
Newly prescribed Hope she doesn't try getting up she'll fall flat on her face.
Keep us updated please Dee on hubbys progress.

Pretty wild night, took the patch of at 12:30 am.up five times fell 3 ,I caught which was like every few minutes trying to get out of bed ,talking all night saying he had to the get thefish out of the frying pan,he hates fish, paper up in the conner, spoons away yelling for the kids....No More patches.... They really worked well for Salvia but not worth it.
.just heard a noise,he was out of bed and said he was letting me out of the closet 😂

I had thought about trying those patches on Larry for his drooling. Think I can skip them now.

I must say they do work great for the saliva and I have not seen him so lively in years but he is also taking unnecessary risks again and the hallucinations are way to much.He is already choking again.

I don’t need him more agitated and delusional then he can be all on his own. I am happy you posted this info. Knowing Larry he would have a similar reaction. He’s very sensitive to medications.
Nice to hear him talk again but too bad it’s goofy talk. What strange reactions and I’ll be honest with you, even though it isn’t funny I laughed at some of the things he said. I think my sense of humor is a bit warped these days. I can picture the pizza delivery man in the kitchen and letting you out of the closet. Wow!
On a more serious note, I hadn’t heard of this drug before so I looked it up. I’m glad you removed the patch. I found this on the internet:
Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms, remove the patch and call your doctor immediately:
rash
hallucinations
confusion
delusions
It sounds like he experienced 3 out of 4 of the less common side effects. Yikes!
Thanks for sharing his reactions. We keep trying new things hoping something will work. Sometimes we get lucky, not always. I’m sorry this didn’t workout for him or for you.
Hi if it's medication for drying up saliva, W's doctor put him.on Buscopan just 2 days ago and so far so good. The pillow isn't soaking wet by morning, which was the norm. xx
My wife has been on Scopoderm (Scopalamine) for a few years now with no side effects. I looked at the medicine packet and it does come with many warnings including effects on the eyes. My wife has CBD. Could it be that these side effects are linked with PSP? The leaflet does say in the event of side effects consult with your doctor and/or pharmacist.
Same thing happened to my husband when he took that drug! It was such a mixed blessing because he showed more energy and life than he had in months, but he was dangerous to himself by getting up and trying to do things. I had to make the decision to take him off of it. Very sad. I just couldn’t find anything to help him because when he felt normal, he would make bad decisions, fall, and injure himself. He was very impulsive by nature, and the disease made things much worse for him.
It is scary that a drug can do this, I loved seeing the energy but as you said bad decisions making.make you wonder about people going on cruise ship and taking this medication.
Mum was constantly sick, bucket loads every day, the ambulance crew had to use suction twice on the way to hospital, scopoderm stopped all of this it was a life saver for her.
