ACTUALLY I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED THAT HE HAD ANOTHER UTI WHEN HE WOUND'T GET OFF THE SOFA YESTERDAY OR OPEN HIS EYES. FORTUNATELY HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT TODAY WITH HIS CARDIO WHO PULLED A URINE, HAH AND IT WAS POSITIVE. HAVE BEEN UP SO MANY HOURS I RALLY DON'T NOW HOW I AM FUNCTIONING. I CAME UP WITH THE BRILLIANT IDEA THAT HE WAS SICK AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF LAST NIGHT WHILE TRYING TO KEEP HIM IN THE HOUSE. HE GOT UP, I THOUGHT TO GO POTTY ABOUT 1:30. I HEARD HIM BUT IT WAS TAKING TO LONG TO PEE. THEN HE TURNED THE LIGHTS ON AND HE WAS TOTALLY DRESSED READY TO GO TO THE MARKET SHOPPING FOR A PARTY FOR OUR DAUGHTER. THE ONLY WAY I COULD CONVINCE HIM TO GO BACK TO BED WAS TO LET HIM CALL THE MARKET AND OUR DAUGHTER WHO IS OUT OF TOWN. SHE DID NOT ANSWER THE PHONE SO HE LEFT A MESSAGE PROBABLY ABOUT 3:00. SO SUGGESTION, FOR WHAT ITS WORTH THOSE DARN UTI'S ARE VERY COMMON WITH PSP AND IF YOU SEE A SUDDEN CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR HAVE THEM TESTED FOR SOME KIND OF INFECTION, I ALSO CALLED HIS NEUROLOGIST FIRST THING THIS MORNING AND WAS IN COMPLETELY AGREEMENT WITH MY SUSPICION THAT HE HAD SOME KIND OF INFECTION. HE JUST SAID HE HAD TO GO TO THE STORE AGAIN AND I THREATENED AGAIN WITH HOSPITAL WHICH HE HATES TO HEAR. OTHER THAN TYING HIM TO ME THROUGH THE NIGHT, HAH, I BARRICADED THE FRONT DOOR WITH CHAIRS I COULD LIFT AND BOXES THAT I WAS GOING TO THROW OUT. OTHER THINGS HAVE BEEN GOING ON BUT TRUTHFULLY I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT. HAVE NOT BEEN ON LINE FOR A WHILE, TRYING TO GET MYSELF HEALTHY AGAIN.

ANOTHER UTI AND TRIED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE TO GO FOOD SHOPPING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
Oh dear. I hope you manage to get a bit of shut eye during the day. If he dozes off, leave everything you are doing and try and nap yourself.
Sending you a big hug.

I agree with you NannaB but trying the cat nap during the day is not as easy as it sounds I hunk M has 6th sense of when I am nodding off as she is very good at doing something that requires my help. So I am learning to live on naps.
Auddonz I like the idea of the baracaded front door, it made me and M laugh as when M was mobile I had to do that to back door as she was good at finding keys. Hope the UTI's are sorted they sound horrid.
Best wishes for a quiet day. Tim
Tim, it was the only think I could think of. Don usually wakes me up to when I am trying to nap, same six sense I am thinking. I gave him two pills yesterday and today he was a bit better. I spent the day crawling into and out of bed trying to revive from my lack of sleep. I threatened him with leaving I was so frustrated. Now I feel guilty BTW, UTI's very common with PSP and cause havoc.

My wife does similar things when she has a raging UTI. Starts putting her shoes on and thinks she's going somewhere. Or she insists that one of our adult children are in the other room. Or that there is a baby crawling on the floor. Or she wants to go upstairs in our house (we have no upstairs). I often have to get her up and walk her in another room to prove she is wrong. Was pretty stubborn prior to PSP, but now she has a triple dose of stubbornness.
It's such a hassle taking her or a uribe sample to the doctor. Her neurologist doesn't even have the supplies to test her urine. I finally ordered my own test strips and it is a breeze to check. Called Chemstrip 10 UA Urine Reagent Test Strip (100 count) from RiseMedical.com for about $80US. Really gives you peace of mind. Just capure some urine in a paper cup and dip a strip in it for 1 second. Then wait 60 seconds and compare to the colors on the container. Checks for 10 things. I mostly look for Nitrites, which usually confirms she has a problem.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas!

B does not have a UTI but he sits on side of bed in mid night to go and cull the books or last night he was smoking a cigarette (dreaming) it fell to the ground all the while I was asking him "where are you" and describing where he really was.....he usually comes out of it and goes back to bed.......but who knows as he progresses what will happen.

Ketchupman, glad to know I am not alone with this one. I barricaded the front door just in case he tried to leave again. Fortunately he had a Dtrs apt anyway so they did the urine along with the ever famous blood. Had the script by the afternoon and gave him 2 3 hours apart. I am beginning to find that he starts acting strange in any way it usually means another infection, usually UTI. The day before he wouldn't open his eyes and I was having trouble getting him to stand up.

Once my Dad needed to get to "class" - he thought he was in college again. We had to explain to him that he didn't have classes because it was break and the school was closed. He was not going to believe that he graduated nearly 40 years ago.
Really hurts
