Thank you all for your support after my post. The frustrating thing is that I have kept full records of most things. Falls, infections, double incontinence episodes, contact with professionals etc but they will not accept my evidence. Because I manage most things without a fuss and rarely ask for help (who would phone the doctor on Christmas Day just for a bloody nose following a regular fall? I certainly wouldn’t) this has worked against me. Pete had been awarded 50/50 health, social services 18 months ago. Now they say he has no health needs!!!!! The decision does not effect us financially right now because we just pay a small proportion of the home carers costs but I am aware that there are further implications for the future. I shall be making lots of calls and requesting lots of visits over the next few weeks. The situation is complicated for a number of reasons so I plan to regain some strength and then work through appeals etc. Thanks again x

Hi maggie4
Sorry to hear all this crap your going through with all these so called professionals . The advice Kevin etc has given you is spot on to a t . My advice is when he falls ring ambulance to get him up you always have proof of that and they also request the falls team to come out .
Regarding managing without a fuss or asking for help forget that always get onto them . These people I’ve always called Muppets because they don’t understand this illness I used to tell them to get on the internet and look it up especially when they are saying he’s no health needs (which planet have they dropped off from )
I truly hope that you can get sorted with and it all comes good for you
Hugs sue x
Hi Maggie4
Here is a simple route to try to fix this.
1 Write to the CHC Team Manager. You can get the name and address by telephoning the team and asking the telephonist. The letter need not be long, just make sure it includes the words, " This letter is a complaint." And "I have been told that the evidence I submitted was not admissible and this does not comply with the National Service Framework" And "Please review my husbands case and explain why my evidence was not admissible."
2 If they respond within four weeks and do not give you a satisfactory response move to step 4. If they do not respond within four weeks move to step 3.
3 They have not responded within four weeks: Write again telling them that you have not had a response and should you not have a response within two further weeks then they leave you little choice, but to take the matter to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
4 As you can see it is quite easy to make a complaint to the Ombudsman.
ombudsman.org.uk/making-com...
Here is an example of how this works. All decisions by the Ombudsman become legally binding for all CCGs in all cases.
Leeds Ombudsman Case, 1994
The patient involved was a man with severe brain damage who was discharged into the community by Leeds General Infirmary with no follow-up care or funding in place. Although his needs had stabilised, he still required a significant amount of nursing care for the rest of his life and so his wife paid for his care in a private nursing home.
The Ombudsman upheld the complaint on the grounds that Leeds Health Authority had failed to appreciate that a need for substantial nursing was itself sufficient to entitle a patient to NHS continuing healthcare and that it was unreasonable for the authority to implement a policy that failed to make long term NHS care available.
Good luck
Kevin

Maggie I am so sorry to hear what you are being put through, I wish I could help, it is so not right what people have to cope with from the very people that should be helping & supporting us when we need it most.
I found the document on the PSP website, in the professionals area, on CHC was very useful, as did Mum's GP and Community Matron. It helps with showing how things affect people across categories not just in the artificial silos on the form. I know our CM has used it successfully as support for CHC funding & in our case for Fast Track funding (we have a 3 month review to look forward to now!).
Good luck with it and keep strong. xxx
