Lots of tips in former discussions. Search for insurance and/or travel and you will find some useful information, I bet! Good luck to your Dad on his travels!

Brilliant!!! We are in the UK and managed to get travel insurance, until last year. S was diagnosed over 3 years ago now and had other big NO NO's that the insurance company didn't like. But we were able to go to South Africa for as long as S was able! Spain and the USA are troublesome. Encourage your father to do any travelling he wants to do NOW!

Lots of love

Best insurance? How about bring a friend, someone who could help him with the little glitches that he has; maybe even prevent things like falling or getting lost.

Good luck

this was one of my questions, but I have found we have free travel insurance included with our flex account (nationwide) as we have booked a few days away, I've called them and they don't need to know about the PSP, as he's not on medication. Don't know if that's any help xx

We went on holiday several times when D was able in the earlier stages after diagnosis. We got insurance through Staysure. They asked lots of questions and it was quite expensive but they didn't quibble. Luckily we didn't have to claim though so don't know how that would have gone!

Good luck with the holiday plans. It is good that he is keen and able to go.

As soon as I was diagnosed with CBD a few years back (and I think it's the same for PSP) and am probably about the same stage as your dad. I was told by my travel agent that I had to declare it as a terminal illness. Which when I applied for holiday insurance online as soon as you answered yes to that question brought a whole raft of other questions which are all answerable no problem. I went to Australia for a month which cost me about £250 with All Clear (online specialise in disease and illness related people). I went to the Caribbean for two weeks last year about £200 with goodtogoinsurance.com, All Clear was more expensive but the reason I was told that it was nearly as much for 14 days in the Caribbean as 30 days in Australia is that's it's much easier to get you back from Sydney than it is from Turks & Cacos, plus it's the USA you're dealing with, health costs are astronomical anyway. I went to Tenerife for a week for about £25 and Lake Garda for about the same with goodtogoinsurance.com both of them this year. Hope that helps. Good luck and best wishes.
