What a responsive and informed group you are! I had no idea -- when I posted I hoped that someone would reply in a month or two. The way I found you was I searched with the phrase "CBD - Is anyone else out there?" Thank God YOU are out there. Our local neurologist said that she had not seen any CBD patients with the severe torticollis that my husband has, but clearly some of you have been dealing with similar conditions. Thanks, too, for the suggestions to research thiamine injections and the scoliosis literature. Can I order cannabis oil online? Really don't know much about it.
Agree wholeheartedly on physical therapy. Husband has been getting intensive physical therapy ( 60 min 2x/week) for almost a year. It has been most helpful for balance, painful muscle spasms and for walking; less so for the neck issues. Neck began to stiffen around Feb 1 and botox shot (which he had with good results, same place, 2 years ago) was intended to help, but it relaxed all of the muscles and that is when his head dropped and now it just won't go back up. We almost lost him in March when he contracted flu and couldn't cough because of his neck posture. Therapists arranged, this week, for me to get a machine that provides home-based ultrasound massages for up to 4 hours/day. That seems to relax him so I am hoping for benefit from the machine.
Because someone asked, am letting you know that I am in the United States. Symptoms began in 2006 (arm tremors, slower gait, cognitive confusions) and continued. Diagnosis was in 2011 at Emory University Neuro Clinic in Atlanta, and we had diagnosis confirmed at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Offering this info because I feel strongly that you need a good regional center - local medical personnel just don't see enough of these conditions (CBD, PSP, MSA) to recognize it when they see it.
Peace does flow like a river... when I find it, I just sit on the bank near it. Wishing you some today and in the coming week.
