Hi all, sorry I have been so quiet the past few weeks, but it's been a hell of a time. Having lost my David last August to PSP, I'm now watching my Mum slowly lose her life in a nursing home, so aim kind of emotionally knackered right now.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to warn you (lol), that I'll be appearing somewhere in the PSPAs social media coverage of Carers Week this week with an interview I did about caring for David. It's the first time that I have gone public outside of this forum and close friends with regard to mine and Davids relationship status, but I thought it was that important that carers and this illness were highlighted that I went for it.
Please don't be too bored, lol
Hugs to all the regulars and everyone else caring for someone or suffering.

So sorry to hear about your mom, sounds a really tough time for you at present.
Wow yet In spite of all the heightened emotions for you currently you are thinking of others. I think you are amazing , so brave and compassionate, what a big heart you have Derek, I think your David would be really proud of you.
Tough time indeed Derek, loosing two special people in a year is too much for anyone. It's lovely that somehow you summoned up the energy for the interview Derek, well done you. I have found it amazing the reserve you have in your tank that you never even knew you had but it does drain you.
Hi Derek, good to hear from you. Sorry you are now expecting to lose your mum. It’s so hard isn’t it. It was good meeting you in London earlier in the year and I could tell what a caring person you are by the way you spoke of David and what you did for him. I look forward to seeing the interview. Have you any idea when it is on and where to find it?
Dear Derek, I am so sorry to hear that your Mum Is in a nursing home. Sending what strength I can across the ether.
So you are joining us in the famous ranks of the PSPA Matters! Well Done. Please tell us what edition and when it's coming out, so we can all read it. How can we possibly be bored, when you are telling our stories.
Yep, Dawn spotted it.... It came out in the short social media format on the PSPA page today, I think it is going to be in the next edition of PSP Matters in a little but longer form.
Thanks for the support everyone, you're all amazing as usual!
It's a written interview, I had a phone interview with a lady who was writing the articles, and the she sent me a copy of what she had written to proof read etc. Good job it wasn't on telly, I have a face for radio lol
