Thank you Kevin. I am one of the quieter members but I do read every day and get so much advice and knowledge from this forum that I wouldn't from anywhere else. I don't feel so lonely knowing that there are so many others out there caring for their loved ones and learning from the experiences of those that are suffering from PSP/CBD.
Well done, Pat! Pleased the mobile handrail still works. Getting on and off the boat must have been 'a leap of faith'. Know we had a few anxious moments getting my hubby on a boat but he was never as spritely as you seem to be!
Lovely photos, good to see you having a great time with your family and still getting out on your beloved boats. Well done - you are as others have said an inspiration, you have certainly cheered my day immensely
Patrick well done yet again. Lovely photos as ever. I am delighted that you are still mobile. Do you think being part of the trial is helping you? We all live in hope that it will help someone.
I'm going to sound like a parrot, Patrick!... You ARE an inspiration! Sorry to hear that darned left arm is getting more rigid ....but you aren't letting it stop you from living life!
And how beautiful is your family?
As far as I'm concerned you've got my vote for "Poster Boy for F@*! CBD"
You've done it again Patrick, shown us all what grit and determination can do to get to enjoy life. You are blessed to have such a loving a supportive family and those grandchildren must be something very special to you. I see that some of them have inherited the last very curls, I'm jealous as my hair is as straight as pump water.
Keeping enjoying life to the full dear man, I'm sure you'll get plenty of more holidays (any planned?)
Marie asked about a trial............ I am not on any trial but participate in the London research UCL project.
I think that because I live on my own I am forced to use my brain a lot to do everyday things that others might have done for them. It can be a struggle to dress myself but I have the time !
I know that in time living at home will become impossible and in some ways I am looking forward to life in a very good local care home that has 5 star reviews.
The journey continues and the next event is my youngest son's wedding in July.
Dear Pat, you are a genius, for anyone who loves the water, boating or walking on the beach you have come up with the answer. We have always been boaters, and hoped to one day try your method of getting around. Sadly, my husband of 58 years passed away on June 6th. He had aspirated saliva and developed strep pneumonia which overwhelmed his body after a day and a half.
He was surrounded by love with his four children and myself. He was the love of my life my partner and best friend. Some of our happiest moments were spent in a boat heading for the sun. I enjoy your positive posts and beautiful family pictures. I wish you fair sky’s and calm seas.
