Hello Doreen,
No, I just gave you the roadmap... You fought the fight and did it well against a lot of opposition and incompetence. Well done!!!
I am so glad you have Geoff home and sad that he is struggling so.
Do keep us all updated... You have a forum full of supportive people!
You have made my evening.
Warmly
Kevin
So happy for you to get the funding. Kevin you are one amazing person, you have so much going on in your life, but you still find time to help others, Kevin you are amazing 😊😊😊😊xxxxxx
Hi Kevin .... dying underpants !! Don’t tell Doreen your secrets to your super hero costume! A true super hero is how we all see you that’s for sure THANK YOU XX
Geoff is very happy to be home and is comfortable and content. Unfortunately We now know that his time left with us is limited but precious. Lots of lovely puddings is the order of the day and he has to put up with me badgering him for a kiss and a smile.
Doreen has managed amazingly and we are so relieved that care is now in place and this is how Geoff wanted it to be ( without other people though lol!). He is in bed looking out of the window at a beautiful magnolia tree and pretty flowers. I even saw a little chuckle from him today when Doreen was teasing him.
This site is wonderful and all who belong, write and others who just read. It’s been so reassuring to us all.
Best wishes to all

Hi Michelle
But really, you folk did the work. I am so glad that I was able to give you the information.
It is so wonderful that you have Geoff home amongst you all and that this precious time is how you want it.
I expect it is difficult and quite heart breaking too. So my thoughts are with you all and I hope things are as best as they could be.
My heart goes out to you all.
Warmly
Kevin

Thank you for sharing, Doreen - your happy news in the midst of psp - and appreciation for one of our highly valued members. Made me smile.
You are pretty hilarious too..! Dyeing underpants?? LOL 😆
That is wonderful bittersweet news, wheel race!
I can see what a difference all the help has made to your outlook with the help you are now getting.
You are both able to relax and poke gentle fun with Geoff and give him some 'normal' life without the tension and the battles. Oh! What a wonderful relief!
Yes, you have to face up to the inevitable - but you have achieved all that Geoff wanted and you can relax. WELL DONE!
And yes, Kevin is amazing at imparting his skill and knowledge. Don't know about needing new undies - he might need a new HAT too!
I am so pleased for you and your family, wheelrace. I did not manage to get my hubby home again and I don't know if it could have happened as I was not given that option, nor did I have time to think about it!
I hope you find some contentment and joy in what you have achieved that will support you in the days to come.
Big Hug

Such a wise and heart centred post. It brought a tear to my eye.
I hope things are going a little better for you now.
You are a vital voice here on the forum and I read all of your posts to Liz. (By demand)
We love you.
Warmly from us both
Kevin
Yes it did come from the heart!
It is what I wanted for my hubby but I was not given that chance. Doctors estimated John had 12 months ahead of him. Palliative care and Hospice were not available unless estimate was 6 months.
He had just a week in a nursing home where food was horrid and I found him asleep in wheelchair in lounge with wet legs where he had dropped his drink in his lap as no-one helped him.
But I got his hair cut finally, and we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with cake and chocolate and watched the All Blacks together.
Thank you for your reply, Kevin. Means a lot to me!
Am getting on with life, making plans, new friends. Have a cruise in Fiordland end July ( will be cold but supposed to be clear and calm), and hope to get house on market soon.
Been out today on an op shop (2nd hand) crawl! Been a blast and quite hilarious at times. So am getting there now!
Hugs and love to you and Liz too!
